Marin Cursillo

What is Cursillo?

Cursillo is a Christian community of faith dedicated to exploring the love of God and sharing God’s love with others.  In Marin, Cursillo is an ecumenical program with active participation of Catholics, Episcopalians, Presbyterians, Methodists, Community Churches, Lutherans and other Christian denominations.

Cursillo begins with a three day weekend during which lay people and clergy share their experiences and perspective on the love of God, the Christian life, and the Christian community.  The teachings of Christ are discussed in a climate of joy and community.  Those attending are curious, searching, discovering, and growing Christians who will have the opportunity to share their thoughts and ideas about Christianity with others.  It is a time to learn and to sort out your own feelings about your faith while enjoying food, music, worship, talks, and laughs.

Cursillo is a Spanish word meaning “short course”.  This “short course in Christianity” begins with the three day weekend. The spiritual journey then continues with 4th Day groups and the support of the Cursillo community.
