2024 Weekend Dates and Themes

Men's Weekend
Date: October 24-27, 2024
The Theme: Living in the Light
Rector: Mike Green

The theme for the 2024 Men’s Cursillo weekend evolved from a song, “Living in the Light of Love” *, written by Yohann Anderson of Tiburon , which he sang for a group of friends several years ago. When I accepted the call to lead the Men’s weekend it became obvious “Living in the Light of Love” would be the perfect theme and song for the our weekend.

One of the most important outcomes of any Cursillo weekend is for candidates to experience the presence of God. I am confident this will be the case as we Live in the Light during our Cursillo weekend.

The 2024 Men’s weekend will provide a safe environment for our candidates to fully recognize, develop, and express their Christianity as they Live in the Light of Love during their Cursillo weekend and beyond.

And we are hoping candidates will form new and deeper friendships and experience a rich Christian fellowship in the Light of God’s Love.

Women's Weekend
Date: Ocbtober 10-13, 2024
The Theme: Be Merciful
Rectora: Mary Furnanz

It is such an honor and privilege to have been asked to be the Rectora, the Leader, of the 2024 Marin Women’s Cursillo. Through prayer I feel I was led to the idea that many of us in our world today need mercy.  Upon reflection I realized that throughout scripture we see where God is merciful to us.  And if we are made in God’s image, aren’t we also called to be merciful with each other? I believe we are.  So, both our theme and our song this year is Be Merciful.

I invite you and I encourage you to come to the Women’s Cursillo weekend where we will share in God’s love and mercy through each other’s presence, prayer, fellowship, silence and laughter.  Throughout this process my prayer is that each of us will come to know Jesus in a new and deeper way and come to better understand that Jesus loves each of us unconditionally.  As we explore our relationship with Jesus may we come together in a time of love and mercy and grow more fully toward the women we were created to be.

Let us embark on this journey together.  Come see what Jesus has planned for us during this Cursillo weekend and in the days and weeks that follow.
